FAQ

Compress Image to 20KB FAQ

Why do exam forms ask for photos under 20KB?

Many exam, admission and recruitment portals limit the candidate photo and signature to 10–20 KB. This tool reduces your image to fit while keeping the face or signature readable.

Will the image get smaller in dimensions?

Often, yes. 20 KB is a tight limit, so for large phone photos the tool reduces the dimensions as well as the quality. Small photos like passport-size crops usually keep their size.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Compression happens entirely in your browser using the HTML canvas API — your photo is never sent to TripleW Tools or anywhere else.

Why is PNG not offered as an output format?

PNG is lossless, so its size can't be tuned with a quality setting. To hit an exact size target the tool saves as JPEG (best for photos) or WebP (often smaller at the same quality).

Need a different limit? Use the 50KB or 100KB compressor, or set any custom size.
