FAQ

YouTube Video ID Extractor FAQ

What is a YouTube video ID?

It's the 11-character code that identifies a video, like dQw4w9WgXcQ. It appears after v= in watch links, after youtu.be/ in short links, and after /shorts/, /embed/ or /live/ in other link types.

Which link formats are supported?

youtube.com/watch?v=, youtu.be/, /shorts/, /embed/, /live/ and /v/ links, mobile (m.youtube.com) and YouTube Music links, youtube-nocookie.com embeds, and bare 11-character IDs. Extra parameters like &t= or &list= are ignored.

Can I extract IDs from many links at once?

Yes. Paste as many links as you like, one per line. Lines without a video ID (channel or playlist pages, for example) are skipped and their line numbers are listed.

Is anything sent to YouTube?

No. IDs are extracted from the text of the links entirely in your browser — nothing is fetched or uploaded.
